Introduction
The Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (“ALITA“) will be launching the 2025 edition of the State of Legal Innovation in Asia-Pacific (“SOLIA“) Report at TechLaw.Fest 2025 on 10 September 2025.
ALITA is Asia-Pacific’s premier non-profit legal innovation and technology association, launched at TechLaw.Fest 2019 in Singapore. The inaugural SOLIA Report was launched at Stanford CodeX FutureLaw 2019 by the Singapore Academy of Law. This was followed by the 2020 edition of the SOLIA Report, which was launched in conjunction with the Singapore Management University School of Law with an expanded coverage.
What the SOLIA Report 2025 will contain
In addition to featuring insights from various jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific region (as did the previous editions of the SOLIA Report), the refreshed 2025 edition will include two new features:
(1) ALITA-Lexis Nexis APAC Legaltech & AI Survey
In collaboration with LexisNexis, the 2025 SOLIA Report will include a APAC Legaltech & AI Survey. The Survey is aimed at providing a deeper understanding of how different legal professionals in private practice, the bar and corporate departments across the Asia-Pacific region currently use AI and legaltech, their attitudes towards AI through the lens of their work, as well as the impact of AI on the legal profession.
The Survey has been based on personal anonymous submissions by participants from various levels of seniority, practice groups, and organisations. It is understood that participants hail from at least eight jurisdictions across Asia-Pacific (including Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Australia, New Zealand, China, South Korea, Malaysia and Japan).
(2) ALITA Legal Innovation & Technology Ecosystem Map
The 2025 SOLIA Report will also contain a “Legal Innovation & Technology Ecosystem Map”. The Map is aimed at further assisting users of legal and innovation technology solutions – such as law firms, chambers and corporate departments – to better identify and recognise innovative organisations providing legal innovation and technology products and services in the different jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific. The Map also includes law firms that are innovating and offering new services and product offerings to augment traditional legal advisory services.
ALITA membership
ALITA is also inviting organisations to join it as part of its regional community.
Organisations interested in membership should contact ALITA at admin@alita.legal.
